Abstract

The aim of this text is to show the situation of one of pedagogy institutes of a public university in Poland against the background of these general tendencies. In a further part, we are going to refer to the most crucial results of quantitive research, whose goal was to establish which group of women ? holding academic and teaching posts in the above-mentioned institute, forms (negotiates) their own professional role and whether the gender perspective is present therein. University field, including pedagogic field has always been hierarchised and hierarchising and the integral aspect of its structure is the factor of gender. Our research shows how urgent it is to disarm the illusion of sex neutrality in science in order to make particular roles more inclusive in relation to the manifestation of gender differentiation. Current attempts of disassembling the bases of these hierarchisations, which, at the first sight, seem to be ?liberating? for certain groups, require even more thorough monitoring of academic careers as regards the gender aspect.
