Abstract

The article presents research on the changes which are experienced by victims of violence during and after psychotherapy. It also seeks to explain how people involved in close relationships cope with their violence-affected past when the victim and the perpetrator continue their relationship. The research shows that if experiences of violence are not integrated, building the relationship and creating "normal" daily life are considerable challenges.
